Welder

POSITION SUMMARY
This position performs all types of industrial welding and fitting work to fabricate heavy equipment, as well as prepares various surfaces for welding by grinding or other means as necessary. The position summary is to be used as a guideline only and may not incorporate all functions of the job.

  • Read job specifications and interpret engineering drawings
  • Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using measuring tape, straightedge, combination square, calipers, ruler, etc.
  • Weld components and assemblies using MCAW and FCAW, including both carbon and stainless steel welding processes
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, horizontal or overhead positions
  • Observe and take part in testing on welded surfaces, such as visual inspection, magnetic particle
  • (MPI), ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic examination (RT or X-ray), to evaluate weld quality as well as conform to dimensional tolerances

ATTRIBUTES WE SEEK

  • CWB tickets – Certified Welder or previously valid tickets
  • Knowledge of the safety regulations of scaffolding, ladders, and lifts
  • Previous experience welding in a heavy equipment manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Possess clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Work in a co-operative group atmosphere
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts and overtime

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assembling custom tension stringing, construction, mining, oil & gas, and marine equipment; following the project from initial assembly to testing.The position summary is to be used as a guideline only and will not incorporate all functions of the job.

  • Read job specifications, interpret and work from engineering drawings to assemble custom heavy equipment including winching systems varying from 5 ton to 600+ ton
  • Perform DC wiring systems (12 – 24V)
  • All variations and sizes of hydraulic systems (closed and open loop), including systems from 2GPM to 200+ GPM
  • Utilize large cranes (2Te to 55Te), lift trucks, etc. to transfer and manufacture equipment
  • Participate in static and dynamic testing of finished equipment

 

ATTRIBUTES WE SEEK

  • Licensed Mechanic License and/or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in assembling hydraulic and mechanical systems is essential
  • Knowledgeable in DC based electrical systems and ability to do overall diagnostics on equipment would be an asset
  • Hands on troubleshooting, repair, adjustment, overhaul, and maintenance of heavy equipment
  • Truck and trailer experience would be an asset
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving

POSITION SUMMARY

The Painter performs all types of industrial painting work and prepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, taping or other means as necessary. The position summary is to be used as a guideline only and may not incorporate all functions of the job.

DUTIES

  • Use priority list and determine paint and procedures required
  • Mix, match and blend various paints and special protective coatings to achieve desired colour, consistency, and drying properties
  • Paint equipment using brush, spray gun and conventional and airless spray systems
  • Erect and use ladders as required
  • Check and document humidity, dew point and mil thickness
  • Meet production standard hours
  • Application of primer and paint
  • Clean and store tools and equipment, keep work site clean

ATTRIBUTES WE SEEK

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial painter
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/schematics
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required

Business Development Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the General Sales Manager, this position is responsible for generating sales volume and customer inquiries, responding to customers’ inquiries, preparing responses to customer RFPs, delivering presentations, creating and following up on proposals, and helping Timberland meet its growth and profitability goals.  The position involves all aspects of the business development process including: prospecting, lead generation, qualifying leads, proposal preparation/follow-up, developing account strategy, handling customer questions with respect to proposals, and closing of the sale.   • Lead a proactive approach to developing new business opportunities in the marketplace and dealing with large multi-national clients
  • Identify customer risk and generate strategic solutions to be selected as the project partner
  • Engage and support engineering, manufacturing and sales/marketing resources through the entire business development/sales process
  • Research new markets/product improvements for increasing sales
  • Maintain strong communication channels with potential and existing customers
  • Develop and execute effective strategies to develop and close sales
  • Negotiate win/win contract terms and conditions with customers
  • Assist with providing cost estimates, proposals and specifications as determined by the General Sales Manager
  • Manage projects and solve problems within a timely manner helping to ensure on time delivery
  • Ensure customers are kept adequately informed of their projects from the date of closing through to date of shipment
  • Keep in touch with customer after the date of shipment and provide assistance during installation, commissioning and first use of the equipment
  • Develop and manage strategically important relationships that further business development activities
  • Assist team in acquiring new customers, and ensure that current customers are informed of the company’s services and resources available
  • Work in partnership with customers to help them define and reach long-term profitability goals
  • Develop business partnerships with sales agents to penetrate market
  • Identify and recommend strategies to maintain and improve Timberland’s competitive position in the market
  • Ensure that marketing and product strategies are consistent with Timberland’s long-range strategic objectives for the product line
  • Generate methods that the company may use to respond to the trends and changes
  • In cooperation with the General Sales Manager, prepare and review marketing and sales plans, and ensure that the plans are being executed to achieve forecasts
  • Provide regular sales reporting to General Sales Manager in alignment with business objectives
