Parts Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Parts Supervisor, the Parts Coordinator is responsible for liaising with customers regarding parts, for purchasing parts/components, and for preparing and entering all customer parts quotes. The summary is to be used as a guideline only and may not incorporate all functions of the job.

  • Actively promote Timberland’s parts business to existing and new customers
  • Proactively prospect for new part sales business
  • Maintain systems such as filing, correspondence tracking, as well as searching internal systems and/or accessing departmental information to track information
  • Receive and review orders for clarity, accuracy, and completeness and input into systems
  • Liaison with production control, engineering, accounting and shipping departments
  • Maintain progress payment files and payment schedules
  • With guidance from the Parts Supervisor, achieve annual sales and profit goals
  • Proactively contact existing customers to provide priced parts list for their equipment
  • Ensure estimates of cost presented for proposals are accurate and backed up with sufficient documentation for future analysis
  • Negotiate, and place orders for required materials to ensure timely delivery
  • Monitor open transactions through to completion and inform as necessary, vendors, requisitioners and appropriate management on order status

ATTRIBUTES WE SEEK

  • Previous parts/inside sales experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience prospecting for new business
  • Post-secondary education in business, engineering or supply chain
  • Mechanical aptitude an asset
  • Experience reading engineering drawings
  • Proven ability to respond in a timely manner to customer requests
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office

Parts and Service Sales – Electric Utilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Parts and Accessory Sales is responsible for quoting, selling, and purchasing parts and accessories for the Electric Utilities division. The position summary is to be used as a guideline only and may not incorporate all functions of the job.

  • Complete documentation, including sales orders and quotes for repairs, service and parts; entering information into system
  • Provide telephone service, answering routine inquiries on service and products
  • Maintain systems such as filing, correspondence tracking, as well as searching internal systems and/or accessing departmental information to track information
  • Receive and review orders for clarity, accuracy, and completeness and input into systems
  • Prepare quotes for requested parts by customer as well as spare parts lists for new builds
  • Schedule inspections and coordinate service for the electric utilities division
  • Purchase required goods to fill sales orders generated by the Parts department
  • Preparation of shipping documents & export paperwork as required
  • Maintain and build relationships with current and new customers
  • Respond to customer requests
  • Contact customers to follow up status of order
  • Actively promote the company’s parts and service business to past and new customers
  • Ensure estimates of cost presented for proposals are accurate and backed up with sufficient documentation for future analysis
  • Ensure scope of work is clearly identified and communicated internally to necessary departments for service work to be performed at Timberland
  • Directly work with the Business Development Managers
  • Assist in maintaining current and accurate price lists

Business Development Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the General Sales Manager, this position is responsible for generating sales volume and customer inquiries, responding to customers’ inquiries, preparing responses to customer RFPs, delivering presentations, creating and following up on proposals, and helping Timberland meet its growth and profitability goals.  The position involves all aspects of the business development process including: prospecting, lead generation, qualifying leads, proposal preparation/follow-up, developing account strategy, handling customer questions with respect to proposals, and closing of the sale.   • Lead a proactive approach to developing new business opportunities in the marketplace and dealing with large multi-national clients
  • Identify customer risk and generate strategic solutions to be selected as the project partner
  • Engage and support engineering, manufacturing and sales/marketing resources through the entire business development/sales process
  • Research new markets/product improvements for increasing sales
  • Maintain strong communication channels with potential and existing customers
  • Develop and execute effective strategies to develop and close sales
  • Negotiate win/win contract terms and conditions with customers
  • Assist with providing cost estimates, proposals and specifications as determined by the General Sales Manager
  • Manage projects and solve problems within a timely manner helping to ensure on time delivery
  • Ensure customers are kept adequately informed of their projects from the date of closing through to date of shipment
  • Keep in touch with customer after the date of shipment and provide assistance during installation, commissioning and first use of the equipment
  • Develop and manage strategically important relationships that further business development activities
  • Assist team in acquiring new customers, and ensure that current customers are informed of the company’s services and resources available
  • Work in partnership with customers to help them define and reach long-term profitability goals
  • Develop business partnerships with sales agents to penetrate market
  • Identify and recommend strategies to maintain and improve Timberland’s competitive position in the market
  • Ensure that marketing and product strategies are consistent with Timberland’s long-range strategic objectives for the product line
  • Generate methods that the company may use to respond to the trends and changes
  • In cooperation with the General Sales Manager, prepare and review marketing and sales plans, and ensure that the plans are being executed to achieve forecasts
  • Provide regular sales reporting to General Sales Manager in alignment with business objectives
