Tower Crane Dismantling

35-ton Derrick and Double Drum Hoist

At 1,776 feet to the tip of its antenna, the new 104-story WTC is the tallest building in the western hemisphere. A Timberland derrick hoist was installed to disassemble the final construction crane and lower its components down to the street. Timberland modified the customer’s existing derrick to perform the required pick and lowering of the tower crane and a self-erecting tower crane system.

Hoover Dam By-Pass

Cable Crane Winch System

High-speed traction hoists, hydraulic power units for two 50-ton cable cranes

Timberland designed and manufactured all the winches for this cable crane high-lift system used to construct the Hoover Dam By-Pass. This custom-engineered project was completed in an accelerated timeframe to replace a previous cable crane (supplied by others) that failed due to wind loading. In addition to the high-lift trolley system, Timberland supplied the hoists for load-lifting and the double-drum mast luffing hoists.
