Chain Jack Systems For Offshore Vessels

Timberland Equipment provides extensive experience in the engineering and manufacture of chain jack packages for offshore applications. The chain jacks are designed to match the project chain size and required tensioning load.

With a number of different styles to choose from, the customer can optimize the design of the vessel’s mooring layout to best suit its specific requirements. With speeds up to 2.5 meters per minute, Timberland chain jacks can actively help to reduce the mooring time to first oil.

A few of our products are highlighted below. Contact us for your specific needs.

Fixed Chain Jacks

Fixed Chain Jacks

Fixed Chain Jack Systems with a dedicated turndown sheave typically result in much less chain handling. Timberland has moored a 24-leg mooring system in just 8 days with this type of mooring system.

The system depicted includes:

  • 16 x 600 Te Chain Jacks (120 mm chain), 16 x Underwater Fairleads,
  • 16 x Turn Down Sheaves, 4 x 750 hp HPU’s, 4 x Control Cabins
Pull Style Chain Jacks

Pull Style Chain Jacks

Typically, these pull style chain jacks hang down below the mooring porch, allowing for a lower overhead clearance above the mooring porch deck.

The system depicted includes:

  • 4 x 320 Te Moveable Chain Jacks, 14 x Turn Down Sheaves,
  • 2 x 280 Te Winches, 2 x HPU’s
Push Style Chain Jacks

Push Style Chain Jacks

With these compact jacks, only the cylinder bodies penetrate the mooring porch. For a movable chain jack configuration, an overhead gantry or trolley system moves the chain jack to each mooring station. With a push style chain jack system, maintenance can be accessed from the deck level so no lower maintenance deck is required.

The system depicted includes:

  • 4 x Moveable Chain Jacks, 12 x Chain Stoppers,
  • 12 x Turn Down Sheaves, 4 x HPU’s
